Kathryn Goetzke is the entrepreneur, philanthropist, strategic consultant and global depression advocate. She is the entrepreneur and innovator behind Mood-lites™, a brand that achieved over 35 million dollars in retail sales. As her role as Chief Mood Officer at The Mood Factory, her goal is to ‘Improve Moods’ by teaching consumers how to get in the present moment through engaging senses. Leatrice Eiseman is a color specialist who has been called “America’s color guru.” She heads the Eiseman Center for Color Information and Training and is also executive director of the Pantone Color Institute and edits the Ezine on the Pantone website. Lee is the author of six books on color, among them, Colors For Your Every Mood (Capital Books, Sterling, VA), which was chosen as a Book of the Month Club selection and received an award from the Independent Publisher’s Association.
Lee was named in the group of 50 top style makers two years in a row (#17 the first year moving up to #13 this year) by Home Furnishings Now, the leading home furnishings trade publication. And recently Fortune Magazine featured her as one of the top decision makers. Her academic background includes a degree in psychology from Antioch as well as advanced studies and a counseling specialist certificate from UCLA. She has studied both fashion and interior design and has taught in both areas.
Rachel Herz, Ph.D. is a neuroscientist and leading world expert on the psychological science of smell. She has been conducting research on the sense of smell, emotion, perception, motivated behavior and cognition since 1990. Dr. Herz has published over 70 original research papers, received numerous awards and grants, co-authored several college textbooks, and is an adjunct professor at Brown University and Boston College. She is also a professional consultant to various industries regarding smell, taste, food and flavor, and is frequently called upon as an expert witness in legal cases involving olfaction. Dr. Herz is the author of two popular science books, The Scent of Desire: Discovering Our Enigmatic Sense of Smell, which was selected as a finalist for the “2009 AAAS Prize for Excellence in Science Books,” and That’s Disgusting: Unraveling the Mysteries of Repulsion, which analyzes the emotion of disgust from culture to neuroscience, and has received numerous accolades from both popular and scholarly presses. Currently in the process of publication, Rachel Herz has a new book that explores how our senses and psychology govern our perception of food, and the experience and consequences of eating.

Dr. Elizabeth Lombardo started her professional career as a Physical Therapist after getting her Master’s degree at Duke University. It was then that she realized that every goal we have, whether it is related to our bodies, relationships, work or life, requires a significant mental edge in order to achieve it. In her quest to help people actualize their dreams, Elizabeth went back to school to get her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Kirsten Straughan is a nutritionalist and serves as an advisor to the Factory. She received her undergraduate degree in nutrition and completed her internship at Loyola University Chicago. She is a registered dietitian with a background that includes five years of clinical experience at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago and four years of private practice nutritional counseling work, in addition to many nutritional educational experiences.
Susan Minamyer has a Masters degree in Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Beloit College. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and has conducted numerous psychological and behavioral research studies. Susan is a world traveler, cultural explorer and English teacher. She has edited multiple books and authored several papers and articles on moods and sensory experiences. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of iFred.
